When you see an Air Quality Alert flag or hear the media report air quality is expected to reach unhealthy levels. Help yourself and others by:
1. Staying indoors as much as possible.
2. Turn up your thermostats to conserve energy.
3. Rideshare to work by carpooling or vanpooling.
4. Ride public transit.
5. Bike or walk when possible.
6. Try not to refuel your vehicle.
7. Telecommute if possible.
8. Combine your errands to eliminate unnecessary trips.
9. Use lawn mowers and gas-powered equipment on non-Alert days.
10. Skip use of aerosol products, oil based paints and solvents.
